Shows to look out for

Monday August 16 I’ll be playing one set at Bar Four at 7pm, with bassist Garth Stevenson and drummer Jeff Davis, shorter form tunes with improvisation.
Then on September 18th, I’ll be playing at a new venue for me, Tomi Jazz up on East 53rd St, near St Peter’s Church, two sets from 9:30 on, with the amazing pianist Pete Rende and one of my favorite drummers, Tommy Crane. Hope you can make it out to one of them, thanks!

Bar Four!

The bass-less trio with Leo Genovese and Tony Falco returns to Bar Four on Seventh Avenue in Park Slope, this coming Monday at 7pm. No cover, $5 suggested donation. Hope to see you there!

New show

Hi, just wanted to update that my band will be playing a last minute show at Barbes this wednesday May 5th, at 8pm. The band will feature new music with Leo Genovese on piano and accordion, Aidan Carroll on bass and more TBA. More info soon!

It will happen.

Again I have to apologize that our shows in Kittery and Boston did not happen this past weekend, due to some last minute occurrences. I assure you that the shows will happen soon, along with a show in New York City, hopefully sooner than later.
Italy was a beautiful experience, I look forward to going back much more often and experiencing more in the way of food, wine, music and family, all so integral to the Italian way of life.

This is my father and uncle on their first communion, along with my grandparents.

Updates

Hi everyone. I have to apologize if anybody tried to access the site last month, a hacker got to my page and messed it up substantially. I also have to update my info on the shows with David Tronzo and Garth Stevenson, they will now take place on April 10th in Kittery ME, and April 11th in Cambridge MA. Garth is currently in Antarctica, Stevenson on Ice!

In other news I have been writing a lot of new music and am getting my Neapolitan band together where I’ll be playing mandolin, more on that later. I’ll be visiting my family near Naples next month for the first time in 12 years and am looking forward to it immensely! More music will be up soon.

Moving Along

I’m happy to update and say that at least a couple of dates are set for a short winter tour with David Tronzo and Garth Stevenson up north. We’ll be playing at the Buoy, a performance venue I’ve been hearing a lot about in Kittery ME, right by Portsmouth NH on January 30th, then at the Lily Pad in Cambridge that Sunday night the 31st. I’ve never actually played at the Lily Pad, but have attended many shows there and am looking forward to it. For now, if you’re in the city, please come by and check out a brief set of Christmas music I’ll be doing with bassist Chris Tordini at Caffe Vivaldi this Saturday December 12th in the Village at 6pm. Otherwise have a happy holiday season!

Mike Kelley’s Day is Done

Next week I’ll be playing a few nights at the Judson Church on Washington Square Park as part of artist Mike Kelley’s Day is Done, a performance art piece that recreates old yearbook photos. I’ll be playing number 9:

The shows will be the headlining act of the Performa ‘09 Festival, and we’ll be playing the 17,18, and 19th of November at 8 and 10 pm, at the Judson Church. Should be cool! I know Mike Kelley most as the man who made this:

Sorry for the past week.

Sorry the site has been down for about a week, I had to renew my domain, etc. More news soon,
Jon

More music.

Hello, here are the final samples from the show with David Tronzo and Garth Stevenson, soon I’ll put up a couple from our recent show with Tony Falco on drums.
