We had a great show at Sir D’s Lounge last week. The Octet is really fun to play with and I hope we can do more soon. This time we featured Bill Holman’s charts from the Gerry Mulligan Songbook, along with some Dave Van Kriedt and Bill Smith from the Dave Brubeck Octet and the Giuffre Lee Konitz arrangements once again. I do hope to write some charts soon as well, but there is also plenty left in the archives that we haven’t even played yet! In the meantime, the new Jon De Lucia Group record is due out on Fresh Sound New Talent this month, and we have a CD release show at Cornelia St. Cafe on March 8th at 8 and 9:30pm.
As soon as the CD is on sale I will share it here. Should be in the next week or so. In the meantime please do make a reservation for the concert, it’s sure to be a special night.
